Shipping Policy

At Carnivorous Supply, we take special care when shipping live plants to ensure they arrive healthy and in good condition.

Shipping Locations

We currently ship within the United States, but only to the 48 contiguous states (the lower 48). We do not currently ship to Alaska, Hawaii, or international destinations.

Shipping Carrier

All orders are shipped via USPS.

Tracking information will be provided by email once your order has shipped.

Processing Time

Order processing times may vary depending on order volume and seasonal demand.

Typical processing time is 1–7 business days, but during busy periods it may take up to 1–2 weeks before your order ships.

We appreciate your patience as we carefully prepare each plant for shipment.

Weather Responsibility

Customers are responsible for ensuring that weather conditions in their area are suitable for receiving live plants at the time of shipment.

We strongly recommend checking your local forecast before ordering, especially during periods of extreme heat or freezing temperatures.

Carnivorous Supply is not responsible for plant damage due to weather conditions after shipment has been sent.

Shipping Method & Delivery Times

We ship using USPS services, which may include:

  • USPS Ground Advantage

  • USPS Priority Mail

  • USPS Priority Mail Express (when available)

Estimated delivery times vary depending on the service selected and destination. These estimates are provided by USPS and are not guaranteed.

Tracking updates may take 24–48 hours to appear after shipment.

Live Plant Shipping Practices

Most carnivorous plants are shipped bare-root with their roots carefully wrapped in moist sphagnum moss or other protective material unless otherwise stated in the product listing.

We package plants to minimize stress during transit and to help maintain moisture and temperature stability.

Weather Delays & Shipping Holds

To protect plant health, orders may be delayed or held if weather conditions are not suitable for safe shipping.

This includes:

  • Extreme heat

  • Freezing temperatures

  • Severe weather events

Orders will be shipped once conditions are safe.

Delivery Responsibility

Once a package is marked as “delivered” by USPS tracking, the shipment is considered complete.

Carnivorous Supply is not responsible for packages that are lost, stolen, or left unattended after delivery.

Customers are responsible for retrieving packages promptly upon delivery to avoid heat, cold, or dehydration damage.

Failed Delivery Attempts

Customers must provide a valid USPS deliverable address.

If USPS is unable to complete delivery due to address issues or failed delivery attempts, it is the customer’s responsibility to contact USPS to resolve the issue.

Delays caused by failed delivery attempts may void live arrival coverage.

Damaged Packages

If your order arrives with visible shipping damage, please:

These items may be required for USPS insurance claims.

Shipping Adjustments

We reserve the right to adjust shipping methods or upgrade shipping services when necessary to protect plant health.

In some cases, we may contact customers regarding alternative shipping options if additional costs are required.
